Stantec presenter Nicole Flanagan, M.A.Sc., P.Eng. presents on Environment, Social and governance (ESG) & Climate Change – Trends & Overview ' It is impossible to turn on the television or radio these days without hearing about sustainability (ESG) or climate change. We’ll look at key trends and why ESG and climate change are key considerations for corporations. Recently, there has been a significant increase in the number of corporations that are setting net zero targets and beginning to disclose on their ESG & climate change risks. The trend has been driven by stock exchange reporting requirements, investor demands, customers, and employees alike as well as the recognition that sustainability creates value and these risks can be managed to better create opportunity. We will explore the topics of ESG trends, risks/opportunities in transitioning to a low carbon economy and the vulnerability to the impacts of climate change'
